Julie Brenman joined Fountainworks in 2012 as a senior consultant. She has over 15 years of municipal executive experience in the City of Durham, NC and the City and County of San Francisco, CA, and currently serves as an Adjunct Instructor for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s School of Government. Her areas of expertise include city and county management, budget and finance, strategic planning, citizen engagement, capital improvements, program evaluation, performance measurement, business operations, and organizational development. She has written a book on Local Government Budgeting and a chapter on the use of trained observers in program evaluation.

Julie is based in Chapel Hill, where she lives with her husband, Jay. She has volunteered as a grant writer for teachers at her daughters’ schools and supports local food drives and distribution efforts. She is learning to play pickle ball, loves to travel, enjoys experimenting with new recipes, and exploring the many local trails with her dog, Glinda.
